Toyota Safety Recall Notification

Price Toyota would like to take this moment to clarify for you exactly why Toyota filed a Defect Information Report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration informing them of Toyota's intent to conduct a voluntary safety advisory recall on certain gas pedal assemblies manufactured for Toyota by CTS Corporation.

Toyota became aware of a few incidents that involved gas pedals not completely returning to the idle position, after the driver removed his or her foot from the gas pedal. Of these few number of cases all were older vehicles with high miles with the same type of CTS gas pedal assembly. The issue is a worn part in the gas pedal assembly that seems to stick under rare humidity and temperature conditions over time. Even though this condition is very rare and does not happen suddenly, Toyota felt that for the safety and protection of all their customers worldwide they would take every precaution and repair the part on all CTS-type gas pedals.

It is a simple procedure to repair the small part and can be done in a short amount of time. Parts are being made available, as we speak. Toyotas without this specific type of CTS gas pedal assembly are not affected by the safety recall.

If you are unsure whether or not your Toyota is on the safety recall list, please feel free to bring it to our dealership and one of our trained professionals will inspect it for you. If your vehicle is on the recall list, you will be notified by Toyota who will send you a notification in the mail. If you receive a recall notice, call our dealership at 302.322.8600 for an appointment. We will schedule and expedite the repair for you.

Most Toyotas are not affected by this recall. Those vehicles that have the CTS gas pedal will receive this safety recall update.
